This story was written right after Donald Trump took office in 2017, but deals with events during Trump’s campaign for president and his subsequent White House appointments, drawing out his campaign’s alleged connections to white-supremacist extremist groups. It seems relevant still, given the violent events playing out in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis and Attorney General Bill Barr’s efforts to blame the violence only on “left wing” extremists and provacatueurs.

Originally Published Jan. 29, 2017 — A lawsuit pending in federal court in Kentucky since this past April may shed some light on the oppressive executive orders issued recently by President Donald Trump that target refugees worldwide as well as immigrants from seven Muslim-majority nations.

The executive orders ban Syrian refugees from entering the US, temporarily suspend all refugee entries into the country and block citizens from seven Muslim-majority nations from entering the US for at least 90 days, even if they are legal US residents. The president’s orders left hundreds of people stranded in airports…
